The Coral Springs Jr. Cats have signed Calvin Medwid to the USPHL Premier roster. Medwid, a left wing from Parkland, Florida, will wear #23.

A left-handed shot listed at 5’7″ and 140 pounds, Medwid developed his game close to home. He played three seasons of Florida high school hockey at Stoneman Douglas High School, finishing with 17 goals and 31 assists for 48 points in 59 games.

His best single-season pace came in 2023-24, when he produced 23 points in 19 games. That is the kind of production that gets noticed, and it earned him the chance to take the next step.

For a young program building its identity in South Florida, adding a player from its own backyard matters. Medwid grew up in the same hockey community the Jr. Cats now represent, and he gets to move up to the USPHL Premier level without leaving home.

The Jr. Cats are excited to welcome Calvin to the team and to see what he brings to the left side of the lineup.
