The Coral Springs Jr. Cats Premier program is proud to announce the addition of forward Joao Pedro “JP” Alves to the roster, who will suit up wearing #62 for the upcoming season.

A left wing out of Parkland, Florida, Alves brings a physical, north to south game that thrives in transition. Standing 5’8″ and 135 pounds, he plays a style that’s bigger than his frame, using a heavy stride and a left handed shot to create pressure both off the rush and down low in the offensive zone.

Alves developed his game through the competitive South Florida hockey scene, sharpening the instincts and habits that have made him one of the more intriguing young wingers to watch heading into this season. His continued development can be tracked on Elite Prospects as he takes the next step at the Premier level.

What stands out most about Alves is his motor. He plays every shift like it’s his last, closing gaps quickly on the forecheck and using his speed to win puck battles along the wall. That relentless approach, paired with a natural scoring touch, is the kind of competitive edge that tends to lift the level of an entire lineup, not just one player’s stat sheet.
