Operating out of the Panthers IceDen, this program offers students immersive, hands-on experience across front-office business and hockey operations. Whether you want to be the voice of the arena, manage game-day logistics, or direct digital media, this internship bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world execution.

Hockey Operations
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the logistical and technical side of a junior hockey team:
• Video & Analytics: Film practices and games, tag and break down footage using professional software, and assist coaching staff with player evaluations and pre-scouting reports.
• Scouting Support: Maintain and update scouting databases, track player statistics, and organize prospect contact information.
• Logistics, Equipment & Facilities: Support locker room setup, track live in-game statistics, manage the penalty box, and ensure the facility footprint is organized and game ready.
Game Day Operations
Drive revenue, enhance the fan experience, and manage live event execution:
• Merchandise & Ticket Sales: Learn front-office sports business fundamentals through season, group, and individual ticket sales.
• Game Day Events & Fan Management: Coordinate highenergy in-game activations, sponsor promotions, and premium hospitality experiences (such as VIP seating and catering).
• Public Address (PA) & Audio: Control the arena’s auditory atmosphere by announcing game events and playing music from the central audio booth alongside live DJ duties.
• Live Broadcast & Media: Gain technical production experience as a Live Stream Announcer, Camera Operator, Scorekeeper, Photographer, or Videographer.
Marketing, Social Media & Community Relations
Become a brand ambassador and drive digital engagement:
• Content Creation & Social Media: Design graphics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, capture live-event energy from the locker room to the ice, and manage the team’s entire digital presence.
• Campaign Execution: Drive ticket sales and lead generation by executing targeted email newsletters and digital marketing campaigns.
• Community Relations: Act as a bridge to the local community by coordinating youth engagement initiatives, charity partnerships, and local events like “Try Hockey for Free” days.
Program Timeline & Structure
The internship is built to align with the academic school calendar and is divided into two distinct developmental phases:
• Phase 1 (August – December): Preseason & Launch Focuses on training, establishing your brand voice, community outreach, player arrivals, and media days.
• Phase 2 (January – April): Execution & Exit Focuses on live game-day operations, weekly content series, playoff coverage, season-end analytics reporting, and building your professional exit portfolio. Key Compliance & Requirements Before applying, please ensure you meet the following program criteria:
• Hours: Interns work less than 20 hours per week, primarily on weekends, ensuring the role does not interfere with academic success.
• Location: Operations primarily take place on-site at the Panthers IceDen (3299 Sportsplex Drive, Coral Springs, FL, 33065). Reliable transportation to and from the facility is required.
• Equipment: Interns must provide their own equipment necessary to complete specific projects (such as cameras, video/audio gear, or specialized software licenses like Adobe Photoshop).
• Clearances: Selected applicants must sign a learning contract and liability waiver, successfully clear a background screening, and satisfy USPHL requirements (including SafeSport training modules).
• Dress Code: Business casual attire or specialized rolespecific wear is expected at all times. Layering is highly recommended due to low indoor facility temperatures!
